Why it's so important that you play with your kitten? Different toys and Loki and Luna's favorites.
Play time is an important part of spending time with your kitten. For the first year or two of their lives. Play time has the biggest impact on the bond between yourself and your kitten.
It's not just kittens that love to play, but adult cats, especially indoor cats, will show an occasional interest too. Cats that go out, will use their play to hunt and might occasionally bring home a present for mum and dad.
Cat's love things that are hidden. A toy disappearing under a rug or behind a curtain. Use varied movements such as swishing a toy rapidly to get their attention, then hiding it and twitching it to get them excited.
There are a whole bundle of toys on the market which kittens love. They're much safer than using your fingers to get your cat excited, as those tiny claws will grow into talons as they get older.

Initially I bought a pack of wands. Loki loved the long worms because they wriggle when you pull them. We spent hours playing with him when he was little.

Catnip Ferret
Both cats love these. They're catnip ferrets. They have one each and when they eventually kill them, I buy two more.

Scratching
Cats love to scratch, so it's a good idea to provide them with a scratching post. Indoor cats need something they are allowed to scratch, or they will use your favorite piece of furniture

Some posts come with a toy. You can buy them separately. My two love this. It's a mouse on elastic. It just screws to the side of the post. I prefer to buy them separately so I can replace them.

Play Circuit
This handy little number is handy during the night. It's quieter than loose balls and toy mice because the ball stays in the circuit, rather that being batted around the room
